    Review:
I loved this movie. Five Stars, two thumbs up, 100%, this movie is perfect. But you probably want to know why I love this movie. This movie has a wonderful cast, director, and music. This is a movie based on an old London tale but it is a wonderful story.
Stephen Sondheim, the music writer, has a charm and talent to his music. The lyrics, the music and the voices are all part of what make this film so magical and perfect. The songs are (in order heard in the movie)-
    1. Opening Title
    2. No Place like London
    3. The Worst Pies in London
    4. Poor Thing
    5. My Friends
    6. Green Finch and Linnet Bird
    7. Alms! Alms!
    8. Johanna
    9. Pirelli?s Miracle Elixir
    10. The Contest
    11. Wait
    12. Ladies in their sensitivities
    13. Pretty Women
    14. Epiphany
    15. A Little Priest
    16. Johanna (Reprise)
    17. God, that?s good!
    18. By the Sea
    19. Not While I?m around
    20. Final scene

All the acting is superb, the voices, though you can tell they aren?t professional are magnificent. You get the feeling that you?re hearing people, regular people, sing the tales of their lives. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter do the most amazing performances you will ever see in a musical done. They really are, as Tim Burton says, the odd couple!

i'm not normally one for musicals, but this is an exception. let me just say that if you hate musicals, this would be the one you still like.

the best parts of the movie are its visuals. tim burton creates a product that is extremely compelling visually, something i noticed even though i look at films through the lens of a writer. he uses his horror experience to utmost effect and ends the film with a pose that will remind you of a ghoulish pieta by michelangelo.

some have decried the amount of blood in this movie, but in my opinion it serves as an extremely compelling leitmotif. none of this crap mel gibson says about his use of blood being symbolic. this is how blood is used symbolically.

This one wasn't too bad actually. I had pretty low expectations, but it surely surpassed them. I went to see this with my girlfriend, and I expected to see something really crappy in which my girlfriend just gawks over Johnny Depp, but it was actually good. Depp can sing, which is something I didn't know he could do. I can't wait to see the live action play of this.

I'm a fan of Burton, but not a fan of the constant singing. lol. Or the constant blood squirting from the necks? Just seemed kind of cheesy and in bad taste. Could of gave it a better effect.

It was pretty good. Being a musical didn't really bother me all too much. Another good Tim Burton/Johnny Dept movie. The gore was pretty cool, beings how it's intended to look fake-ish (a nod to the classic Hammer Studios Horror films). Not Burtons best film, but worth watching.

Like Perfume, I debated whether or not to see this. Blood and guts: not really my thing. But my friend finally talked me into it, and I really did enjoy it. I admit, I shut my eyes during some of the more gruesome murders: Cohen and Rickman. But otherwise, the songs are great. A very twisted, interesting movie.

What a horrible musical. The setting and the acting was great but I think everything else was just utterly horrible! The music and the lyrics are very unmelodious. As a musical, singing and the music is really crucial and, sadly, this film failed to meet that.

I find that there are many unnecessary conversation and singing that could be taken out and are very pointless. I spaced out during many parts of this movie.

A biggest letdown, in my opinion, was the blood effect. It's SOOOO FAKE! After a few seconds of cutting, the blood started to pour out like waterfall. It's so unrealistic that it's really funny.

However, I must admit that the acting was brilliant from the cast. The characters are memorable and the setting was amazing.

This movie was completely different to any other movie I've seen. Who could have know a musical could be so bloody I mean literally. But i felt sorry for him, he lost everything he loved.

Boring as all get out. I'd never heard the music before, and afterward, I wish that were still the case. It felt like everybody was phoning it in, and there was nothing to hold my attention. And another thing, I'd like to send a tip to Tim Burton. Dear Tim, you've proven that you have a complete mastery of gray as a color pallet. Move on please. Thanks.

This was definitely entertaining, but Sweeney Todd was simply not meant to be a movie. However, I have to hand it to the cinematographers.

This is different to anything you've seen before. You are partial with the cold-blooded murderer, the whole athmosphere is depressing, yet comedic. Something to sadisfy the romantic heart and the gory.
The cast is a dream, such is the music and are the pictures.

The best of 07. Phenomenal. Johnny Depp is in his best role yet with this film. Helena Should have bewen nommed for her role as Ms. Lovett. The music is wonderful, the directing is oscar-worthy, and the art direction is just beautiful. Overall, this is the movie I was waiting for all through the year of 07.

There was a barber and his wife,
    And she was beautiful ...
A foolish barber and his wife,
She was his reason and his life,
    And she was beautiful ...
    And she was virtuous,
    And he was naive..."
So beautiful... The songs are very cool and representations are fantastic. It's so great because it's funny and dark.
    Without doubt an excellent movie.

Ok, I just noticed something that I thought was really interesting and cool. During the Song "My Friends" Sweeney turns the razor so that you can see Mrs. Lovett's face when he "You shall drip rubies." Ok I thought it was really great direction and foreshadowing. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
