This movie is the definition of great independent american cinema. It's insane, fun, and one of the most well-directed music/band-related films. Great, non-simple performances and, generally, a must-see.

Entertaining Aussie movie with a funny punchline at the end. Alex Proyas went on to direct I, Robot. Some great performance here espcially from Russell Dykstra as the group's manager.

Fun, stylish, Aussie flick about about the long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll. Great eclectic cast and very clever direction.

Not a bad little Aussie comedy for those who don't mind a bit of a rambling tale. The laughs are fairly scarce, but any of the scenes involving drug use are pretty hilarious. It tends to become more of a soap opera for much of the middle and the ending is a bit clunky, but the young Australian cast are fun to watch and the soundtrack manages to keep your attention. That said, without the touches of comedy, it's a bit like watching 90 minutes of 'Neighbours'.

AHHHH THIS FILM IS FUCKIN AWFUL!

BUT, I do have fond memories associated with this film. The only reason i'm giving it 1 and half stars is because of 3 seconds of this film. (the laughing at the opera house part - that's genius)

"I don't know about this film.. but really not my cup of tea.. this film seems to annoy me something deep.. and it's overtly long for such a simple story.

A great soundtrack, cinematography was alright and the story line was ok but it didn't do anything for me. The characters didn't do anything for me either and as a matter of fact I'm now left with the belief that Pia Miranda can't really act and is on the annoying side. I also felt all the attempts at humour weren't successful and that the only mildly amusing part of the film was the Fun With Drugs Part 2 and even that was pushing it. Shame really because it had potential as a story

Sex drugs and rock n roll Aussie style. I wanna be part of this. Believable characters and a lighthearted trip to stardom with the band. Do they make it?? Watch and see.

One of those movies that just make you want to pick up a guitar and start a band and be something in the music industry.

Filling the uncomfortable gap between Wayne's World and Trainspotting is this rather complex though slightly limp offering from I, Robot director Alex Proyas. Australian film makers seem to have an obsession with aspiring bands and their struggle to rise to fame. This is, however, original enough to forego the typical slapstick drivel of many of its contemporaries. Indeed, the guitarist with the imaginary girlfriend is an interesting touch, as is the various drug trips that point more toward Hunter S. Thompson than Jim Morrison. Eitherway, it cant be denied that Garage Days wins points for its quirky charms and not for originality. Without some one of Proyas' talents at the helm, a good screenplay could have been made into a seriously messy film. Luckily this isn't the case.

A fantastic Aussie film. My favorite part was when they were on drugs and the parents heads turned into snakes. A great rock n roll film.

Spectacular Aussie comedy on sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Pia Miranda's cool in her 'angry management' performance.

I love Garage days, but I think the one scene of Melly the Melon saying "Papa" cracks me up something shocking.

A mature film, with plenty of drama, the film constantly surged forward while still giving a few good laughs and great moments. Clever film techniques used the whole time.

A bit of a strange one from Alex Proyas, whom you'd normally think of as directing sci-fi actioners. It is a pretty good film.

For a feel-good time, Garage Days is the movie for all aspiring musos...Aussie made, this light, airy drama is a delightful movie to lift your spirits. Definite two-thumbs up with a great soundtrack to match.

Great film, Pia miranda's performance is equal to if not better than her performance in looking for alibrandi- definately a good movie to see. The way live music should be! Kick gurry is also great in this film, along with the rest of the *unknowns* cast!

If you have ever played in a band you will love this movie!! Alex Proyas first Feature film I believe, previous to this he was well known for directing music videos, almost a culmination of those years.
