Plot: American soldier, very skilled in martial arts, single-handedly takes on mercenaries in the Philippines.
Pvt. Joe Armstrong (Michael Dudikoff) is quiet American Ninja with a mysterious past suffers from amnesia. Joe finds a PFC stationed in the Philippines. Joe and his platoon are ambushed by Filipino guerrillas. Colonel William T. Hickock's (Guich Koock) beautiful daughter, Patricia Hickock (Judie Aronson). Joe is found by Shinyuki (John Fujioka) trained Joe to be a ninja.
I like Michael Dudikoff but strange some of his Movies I nearly felt asleep. I think I have seen only 4 of his Movie from the beginning till the End.
Yes, I know... but this is a true guilty pleasure from my youth. I'll always love it for such stupid reasons. It's dumb, schlocky, ridiculous, macho and ultimately a silly kick-ass 80's, direct to video pile of testosteroney. BUT.... I love it! Sorry, it's funny when it's not supposed to be, the ninja action is very cool and Steve James is the poor mans Samuel L. Jackson. 1985 never looked so .... er, well.... ninja-ish. Spawned a bunch of sequels, but the original is still the cult favorite. Trust me folks, it's really good fun!!!
who didnt love this movie during the whole ninja craze in the 80s.
wow did the bad ninja just shoot a laser !!!!!!
What do u do when Chuck Norris drops out of the ninja movie you're making? Easy u hire a better looking actor who has no previous martial arts experience. Ok i could go on and on about how cheesy this movie is but in the end I still love it. Who doesn't want to live in a world where the armys biggest concern is ninja attacks.
One of the better movies to come from Cannon.
It stars Michael Dudikoff as Joe Armstrong, a mysterious man who has just joined the U.S. army who single handedly takes on a mercenaries in the philippines while trying to uncover fragments of his past.
This one unfortunately spanned 4 sequels. two of which did not even feature Michael Dudikoff's character.
Also stars Steve James and Judie Aronson.
If that cover doesn't sell this cheese-fest to you, nothing will. So go get some beers and watch this hillarious piece of crap, unless you want Dudikoff¡s over-sized fists to pound your sorry ass.
Michael Dudikoff walks around with a permanent botox face, and stumbles through his karate scenes. Pure cheese!
AWESOME! Michael Dudikoff wsa awesome in this and the sequel, not great storywise or whatever, but I enjoyed the action.
I thought it was totaly okay when I watched it.. for at least 5-10 years ago.. LOL! Just watched it again.. this flick isn't really worth watching.. The fights are really bad.. the FX's and the sound.. especially when then are hitting someone.. sounds like they are hitting a meat bag.. which they did back then... =-S
Sure it is dumb, cheesy and a average martial arts action film but it completely entertaining and a sure-fire guilty pleasure. It sadly reminds me that there just isn't enough ninjas in movies today. If you leave your brain at the door while watching this you will have a lot of fun.
It's hard to believe that Michael Dudikoff was the same blonde-haired doofus who was in the original Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks. Hard to take an actor seriously after that.
First of the series, with Dudikoff as an American serviceman who moonlights as a ninja. Of course, almost everyone's against him.
Classic! - if you grew up an "80s kid" and didn't want to be a "Ninja" after this movie...What am I talking about? - anyone of us growing up in the 80s saw this flick and immediately wanted to become a Ninja!!
i bought this movie on dvd because it was playing in slow motion in penny lane. has the coolest stunt ever. dudikoff jumps his sweet bike over a wall and you can see the stunt double smash his face on the bike when it lands.
I was fine wit this at first..good beginning..not too unbeliavable action..then.."Blackstar Ninja appeared in a locked cell in a puff od smoke...it was all down hill from there, including a cheesy Star Wars rip-off.
Hum,que saudades dos meus tempos de juventude e da pancada por filmes de Ninja.Vi o filme há pouco tempo e foi uma bela desilusão,outros tempos outros gostos mas deu para matar saudades dos Ninjas, hehehehe
For its time this was 'The; Martial arts film for me ... though i learned better later on, it still holds a special place in my thoughts.
The title of this movie is an oxymoron. A real ninja would shred this Dudikoff guy in threads. Heck, even a fake ninja could do that.
this movie is so bad that its funny.. the storyline, converstations and bad effect made me laugh all the way through it.. hah... one to watch ;)
I remember this movie because my brother was the one who had it but I can't remember what happend to it...lol
I have no idea why, but back in the day i thought this was the best movie ever (in martial arts that is)
Super Dooper kickass fight sequences, including the obligatory triple sumersaults, corny Japanese accents and high testosterone macho action.
Heh, I was 17 and a fully fledged Ninja wannabe!
The sequels were total sh!te.
As a 16 year old martial art student, these type of films were my training manuals!!
If only I could master the smouldering looks and double backflip!
Probably wont cut it with todays teenagers, which is a shame! Every tenager needs corny scripts and unbelievable fight scenes!
